Standardised Test Preparation

Digital SAT Preparation

Module adaptive, delivered in Bluebook, and stable in format into 2027. Planned alongside your board exams rather than in competition with them.

Format
2 sections, module adaptive
Duration
2 hours 14 minutes
Scoring
400 to 1600
Validity
No formal expiry

Digital, adaptive, just over two hours

The SAT is the undergraduate admission test for American universities, now fully digital and adaptive. The format is stable into 2027, which makes it the most predictable exam on this list to plan around.

SectionQuestionsTime
Reading and Writing, two 32 minute modules5464 minutes
Math, two 35 minute modules4470 minutes
Total98134 minutes

Plus a ten minute break between sections, so about 2 hours 14 minutes in total. Delivered in the Bluebook app.

How the adaptive modules work

The first module of each section carries a broad mix of easy, medium and hard questions. How you perform on it decides whether the second module is harder or easier, and that in turn sets the score range available to you. The first module is therefore worth more than its question count suggests, and pacing through it is the single highest leverage skill on the digital SAT.

What changed from the paper test

Scoring, dates and what it costs

The total runs 400 to 1600, from two section scores of 200 to 800 each. SAT scores do not formally expire, though College Board notes that reports sent five or more years after the test date are less useful predictors, and scores from before 2005 are no longer accessible. For any school applicant this is comfortably longer than you need.

2026 to 2027 test dates

22 August 2026, 12 September 2026, 3 October 2026, 7 November 2026, 5 December 2026, 6 March 2027, 1 May 2027 and 5 June 2027. College Board states these apply to US and international students alike.

Fees, verified. Base registration is 68 US dollars, plus a 43 dollar international fee for candidates testing outside the US, so 111 US dollars from India or the UAE. College Board states this applies through December 2026.

Nothing structural changes in 2026 to 2027

The updates for this cycle are administrative: a resizable embedded calculator, better zoom and pan on charts, improved reference sheets, and a waitlist feature for US students. No format or scoring change. If you are planning a two year runway from Class 11, the test you prepare for is the test you will sit.

What preparation with us looks like

Module one

Pacing where it counts

The opening module sets your ceiling. We drill it separately from the rest of the section, because treating all 98 questions equally is the most common planning error.

Bluebook

Practice in the real app

All full length mocks run in Bluebook, not on paper. The annotation tools and the built in calculator are skills in themselves.

Board aware

Alongside CBSE, ICSE or IB

Most of our SAT students are sitting boards in the same window. The calendar is built around that, not in competition with it.

We do not publish a "competitive SAT score". College Board percentile tables were not accessible to us at the time of writing and we will not print a benchmark we cannot source. Your target comes from the published admitted-student ranges of the universities on your list, and note that many American universities remain test optional, which changes whether you should submit at all.

What we help you with

Five things are in every test preparation programme we run, whatever the exam and whatever the level you start at.

One to one doubt clearing, on your schedule

Every programme includes dedicated one to one sessions with your own teacher for the questions that came up after class. Booked when you need them, not parked until the next group session.

Video recording after every lesson

The recording reaches you the same day, every time. Miss a class for a school exam, a work trip or a bad week and you have not missed the lesson. It is also the fastest revision tool you will have in the last fortnight.

Full length mock tests, in the real interface

Not a question bank. Complete timed papers sat under exam conditions, marked the way the board marks them, with a per section breakdown so you know which paper is costing you the score and not just that your total is short.

Strategy sessions, not just teaching hours

Before you start, we set the target and the timeline. Midway, we reset it against your mock results. Before you book the exam, we confirm you are sitting the right version on the right date. Teaching without this is just hours.

One to one personalised programmes

If a group cohort is not right for you, the whole programme can run one to one. Your own teacher, your own pace, sessions timed around school or work, and a plan built only around your weakest paper.

Faculty

Taught by trainers, marked against the official criteria

Every programme is led by a subject trainer who works to the examining board’s own published criteria, not to a generic syllabus. Your mock papers come back with a per section breakdown and the specific reason each mark was lost.

We keep cohorts small enough that the trainer knows your weakest paper by name, and we pair every group programme with one to one time on it.

Which test, and when?

Picking the wrong exam costs a year. TAICF, our own assessment framework, reads your academic record, your target countries and your deadlines, then tells you which test your shortlist actually accepts and what order to sit things in.

How TAICF works

Questions people actually ask

When should a student start SAT preparation?

Most of our students start in Class 11 and sit the test in the second half of that year or early in Class 12, which leaves room for a retake before applications. Starting in Class 12 is possible but compresses everything against board exams.

Do SAT scores expire?

Not formally. College Board does not publish an expiry, though it notes scores sent five or more years later are weaker predictors and scores before 2005 are no longer accessible.

Is the SAT still required?

Many American universities remain test optional, and policies vary by institution and change year to year. Whether you should submit a score is a separate question from whether you can. We check each university on your list before you commit to a sitting.

Is the digital SAT easier than the paper one?

It is shorter and the adaptive design means the questions you see are matched to your level, which many students find less demoralising. It is not easier to score well on. The compressed timeline and the weight of the first module make pacing harder, not easier.

Is the SAT accepted in India?

Yes, by a growing number of Indian institutions including Ashoka and Krea, alongside its main use for undergraduate admission to the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia and Singapore.
